Let's Rap...

First... a quick point about concerns over the comment sections... blospot sucks.  The comments stop showing up once you hit like 225 comments or some bullshit, I dunno, I didn't count.  It's happened before while I took my one year masturbation spree.  I had to delete the Checking In page and repost it to correct the problem, that's what I've just done again.  Now you can get back to asking me when Date Night is getting updated.

Second.... who am I?  Am I an artist?  No.  A businessman?  Lol, definitely not.  You need to make money to qualify for that I think.  So what am I?  I'm a person with a hobby.  Every cent I made from the fund raiser went into this tablet.  This tablet which I have used SOLELY to bring you DoodleNooch's patented DoodleNooch doodles (and that 1 irl art project I did and playing  months of Civilization 6)  Then I dipped into my own pocket to pay the last few hundred dollars for the tablet, Clip Studio Paint, and a few months of Adobe Flash.

"But Doodle, what about the million dollars you made on commissions?"  I blew it on hookers.  Oh wait, no I didn't, because I've made chump change from them.  I wouldn't begin to know how to make money on commissions.  I can spend around 10 hours just working the layout/character design/dialogue of a commissioned comic.  Then there's fleshing out the art, inking, coloring, shading, and adding the text.  A single comic page can take me like 25 hours.  How much would you want to make for that time?  I can tell you, I can't afford a good cup of coffee for an hour's work.

So why do it then?  Because I like to... at my own pace.  I'm doing this for me.  Your enjoyment is a fortunate byproduct.  Guys... I got an offer from a major adult comic site to do a commission for them and while I was honored I respectfully declined.  They left the invitation open.  I don't need the pressure.

Third... what do I owe you?  The people that donated to my tablet, I owe them a comic, my promise that I'll keep doing what I do, and my immense gratitude.  But the rest of you... nothing.

Forth... how much is enough?  Okay, so I put out a new page every couple of months.  Could I work faster?  Yeah.  I'd love to work faster, but it's just not in me.  That's who I am.  Could I communicate more?  Definitely.  But as I've said before, when I got nothing to show, why would I come to the blog every few days and repeat my shame to you?  I never wanted this attention... I just wanted to draw naughty doodles.  And now I get over 2000 daily views on the blog and over 3500 people following me on tumblr.  Where did I go wrong?
